Fender flares, and RWD, Liftbacks
My vote is for the Starion, Conquest widebody.
I mean just look at the thing, and this is how it came off the showroom floor.
Then again the MK2 Supra is a serious contender. I wonder who copide who on this wheel design.
Then there’s the 944, alittle less sharp, angular, and in your face than the Japanese cars of the time, but badass in a purely 80’s way nonetheless.
If your wonder “but why no Delorean?” it’s because altho the story, and gull wingdoors, and movie credits are cool. I don’t actually like the way they look.

Aw11 of course! Wedge shape, big wing, big air vent in the rear fender, pop-up lights, very 80’s

I used to hate those Supras. I always thought they were junk because when I was in high school there were a couple in town that were giant piles of crap. I just assumed they all were. I know better now though.

Yeah they weren’t the most reliable things. I’ve read a few build threads of people restoring them tho, so there is at least a few still on the road.

Not a “sprots car” IMO.

Bullshit. It was made to look cool and go fast. Performance and style first, everything else last. That's a sports car.

I’ll see your Corvette and raise you a Callaway Sledgehammer.
One of the meanest Corvettes ever devised.

It has a lot of 80s to it too.
Pop up headlights, hard edges, stuck on out of place looking intake, turbo decal on the side, and those wheels (which I believe are very similar to a close generation Corvette if I’m not mistaken).
plus I love the way the headlights when down look like the car is tired and on a low after a weekend long cocaine bender- but headlights go up and it’s balls out all over again!

You win with the starion and the celica supra, Both favorite cars of mine.
Uncle had a starion that he got from a poker game, Promtly lost it in another poker game. Left an impression to that to this day I still want one. I hate to not get back into my mr2 though.
recently drove a Mk2 and it was a piece, But the 5m just screamed. Good times.

Mk2 supra came out first. Although I'm not a fan of the flares. Wide tires stuffed into the standard flares was the best look. Biased? Who, me?

Also the most important 80's feature. Digital dash. MUST HAVE DIGITAL DASH.

I saw a Chrysler Conquest Turbo at the pick ‘n pull yard yesterday. I may nab the passenger seat out of it for the gaming chair I want to build.

I know of only one Starion near me, its a bronze color, its mint and I rarely see it. I would not mind having one! I was next to it in my Z one time and we gave each other a nod.

but it looks like a dumptruck, and a sports car had some kind of retard child. and is powered by a terrible, heavy, underpowered, (if I remember right) Oldsmobile V6. but I do understand that my opinion is the unpopular one. I get the allure, I know why I should love it, and I love 80’s cars, but the D just doesn’t do it for me.
and I will say it look better from behind

Awww come on. Actually it’s a Renault Volvo engine. You like Volvos. It’s actually the 1980s GT86. The specs are pretty similar.

The car weighs 2800 lbs, had a better power to weight ratio than the corvette of the same year, it had a PRV6. And yes, Dat ass.
